about me

about louisa (but most people call her lou)

Louisa’s background is in sustainable fashion practice and creative entrepreneurship. She sells colourful, unusual vintage fashion through Trendlistr. She is chair of Colour Collective UK, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes colour education through multidisciplinary workshops and lectures.

She has been lecturing since 2018 and is an early-career researcher whose current areas of interest include digital identities, the body in fashion photography and the imagery of the Global War on Terror.

She contributes to the Critical Security and Foreign Policy research cluster at Northumbria University, which brings together UK, European and international security researchers, using critical, decolonial, and feminist perspectives to challenge mainstream narratives of war and security.

She completed the Cambridge University Institute for Sustainability Leadership Accelerator Programme in 2020.

She now lectures at Northumbria University on Fashion Communication BA (Hons) and and has previously supervised Master’s theses for the MA Luxury Brand Management at Northumbria’s Amsterdam campus. She has also lectured on the MA Arts, Business & Creativity course at Newcastle University and the University of Sunderland on BA (Hons) Fashion Journalism and Fashion Design & Promotion course.
